Ah, back to normal.

Isn't is nice just to go to class? To just ... be a law student, without worrying about how your interview went, or when your next flight leaves, or how you're ever going to catch up on your reading? Funny how whenever I wear this hoodie, all the "street people" tell me they went to Boalt once upon a time, but dropped out. Right. No, supermarket grocery bagger, I don't believe you. Nor you, Telegraph face-painting woman. It's too wonderful a place to ever want to leave.

They just need to stop and smell the roses.

Or take a trip to Venezia, which is precisely what we all did a couple weeks ago. The usual gang was about, and Megan brought her two roommates.

Classy Venezia decór.

Classy Venezia friends.

And what else makes the Bay Area famous? Tech stuff! Yes, this is the coveted iPhone. Corey, Daniel, and Travis were working a booth at MacWorld, and had a spare pass to let me in to this very cool, very exclusive event. There was so much awesome stuff there.

Here's a guy doing a live demo of the iPhone, which looks pretty slick indeed.

Daniel shows off his company's product, iKlear screen wipes. Work it, Dan.

Some of the innovations at MacWorld are just plain sh**. Hahaha, get it?

Mmmm, vegetables. And fruits. Tasty stuff. Note the butternut squash, which got demolished in about three days.

Partyyyyyyyyyyyy! "License to Thrill" was a good old time. People got into the Secret Agent theme quite readily.

Brianna and her sister Chloe deliberated on what to wear for the best "1960's Bond Girl" outfits. I think they did a bang-up job.

Jason certainly looks the part. Erik agrees.

But make no mistake ... THESE are the two deadliest agents in the house.

Dad, you might like this picture. Nifty car, eh? It was across from the bus stop on my way home the other day.

I ran so long yesterday, I got a tan line! Hoo-rah. The sunglasses tan is never going away either -- people keep asking me if I've recently gone skiing.

Okay, that wasn't the most thematically cohesive post, nor the best written, but at least it brings us up to date on pictures and stuff. Gotta head to class now. I love you all.

Speed-update: from Christmas to Cali

Saturday, January 13, 2007

Since it's been WAY too long since the last post, and there's just way too much to talk about, I figured I'd just do it speedy-style. The pictures will have to be worth the thousand words here, with pithy captions to round out the experience. Enjoy!

In Tucson, before the marathon, spending some quality time with Heather Lane.

We went to Pima Trail, which was oodles of hiking fun.

Heather atop the gorgeous Gates Pass lookout.

The race went well. Long story short, I ran a personal best time of 3:13, just two minutes shy of Boston Qual time. But I did take third in my age group! Huzzah. Next stop: Colorado.

Baking some cookies for the boys.

Mom's tender love goes into each one.

Good enough to eat, eh?

Owen thought so, anyway.

And Lincoln agreed.

It snowed like mad.

A christmas gift from Uncle Roy, to help us remember sweet Scully, who passed away this summer.

My Speed Scrabble victory on New Year's Eve. Don't even think about challenging my use of "ya." Dictionary.com says it's legit:
–pronoun Pronunciation Spelling.
1.you: Give me a hand, will ya?
2.your: Where's ya brother?

Back in SF, it was time to go for a long bike ride. My target? The Golden Gate area. I drove out:

Note: don't snap photos and drive. Dangerous.

After some ample free parking near the bridge (who would have guessed?), it was a leisurely ride over to the bridge.

As I was taking this shot, another biker came by and said "Nice pose!"

You have to lean WAAAAAAAAY out to get this picture.

Just kidding. See? There's an outcropping here. Anyway, the ride was about three hours, and tons of fun.

I've got some more pictures of recent events, including a trip to Cafe Venezia, Macworld, and a recent Club Channing party entitled License to Thrill. Stay tuned!
